Paris-Saint Germain Lift the Trophee de Champions

Last weekend PSG played Nantes in the Trophee de champion's game. PSG came out on top scoring four goals! PSG had the majority of possession and outplayed their opponent. The two sides have met once before, in 1995 with PSG winning 6-5 on penalties. PSG making this trophy their 10th and their 9th in a row which is the most of any team at the moment.

SAVE(19) Donnarumma with a decent save from a shot by Nantes.

GOAL(22) Messi swivels his hips to fake the goalie out and slots it in the back of the net with his right foot. 

GOAL(45'+5') Neymar scores a brilliant freekick outside the eighteen, curling away from the goalkeeper to go in at the near post.

GOAL(57) Sergio Ramos with a delicious back-heel to make it three for the Parisians.

RED CARD(81) A nice ball is played across from Paredes to Neymar, he is then dragged down in the box by Jean Charles Castelletto who is sent off

GOAL(82) After no further review, Neymar steps up and slots the penalty in the back of the net to complete his brace.

 

HISTORY OF TROPHEE DE CHAMPIONS

    

               The competition with the used name started not too long ago in 1995. Which is funny because FC Nantes and Paris Saint-Germain played against each other. For those of you that don't know, the Trophee de Champions is one match played between the winners of Ligue 1 and Coupe de France (Domestic tournament) The two teams play one match that decides who gets the Trophee de Champions. This is a yearly competition that usually takes place in the summer before the start of Ligue 1.
